Is SensualRead really free?
Yes — completely. Every story on SensualRead is free to read from beginning to end. There is no paywall, no locked chapters and no credit card anywhere on the site. On the seven long stories an optional sign-up card appears partway through, and “keep reading without subscribing” sits right under it. We do not sell subscriptions to read the stories. The newsletter is optional and also free.
Do I need an account to read?
No. You can read every story without registering, logging in, or giving us an email address. Just click and read. The only thing we ask is that you are 18 or older.
How often do you publish new stories?
A new original story every other week. Subscribers get one letter every Tuesday: the new story when there is one, a pick from the library and a subscriber-only extra when there is not. Our serialised novella, The Midnight Garden, is complete: all twelve chapters are free.
What do the heat ratings mean?
Our heat ratings tell you how much happens on the page before you start reading, so you can pick something that matches your mood. 🔥 is longing and tension with little on the page, 🔥🔥 is sensual with intimacy implied or kept brief, 🔥🔥🔥 is steamy with explicit scenes inside a real plot, 🔥🔥🔥🔥 means desire drives the story and the love scenes are on the page or only just off it, and 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 is scorching, explicit and sustained. Ratings measure heat, not darkness. The long originals and the serial carry a rating; the shorter stories are unrated and lean sensual rather than graphic.
Is it private to read here?
We do not require an account, so we do not know who you are. We use standard analytics to understand which stories are popular, and our newsletter uses MailerLite. We never sell data, and there is nothing in your inbox unless you deliberately subscribe. As with any site, your own browser history is yours to manage.
Can I read on my phone?
Yes — the site is built for phone reading. Text is sized for comfortable long-form reading, there is a reading progress bar so you can see how far you have left, and a text-size control (the “Aa” button) so you can adjust to taste.
Who writes the stories?
SensualRead is published under a pen name, Vesna Adair. Nothing on the site is user-submitted, and the library spans dark fantasy, paranormal, historical, gothic, sci-fi and mythic romance. There is more on the About page.
Can I submit my own story?
We are not open for general submissions right now, but that may change as the site grows. If you write literary romance or erotica and would like to be considered in future, get in touch through our contact page.
What genres do you publish?
Dark fantasy romance, vampire and paranormal romance, gothic romance, historical romance, sci-fi romance, Celtic and Norse mythic romance, plus trope-driven stories like enemies-to-lovers, forbidden love and slow burn.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. SensualRead publishes explicit fiction intended for adults. You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to read it. Every character in a romantic or sexual scene is an adult (18+).
